Christina Ricci, who is currently starring Off-Broadway in A Midsummer Night’s Dream at Classic Stage Company, will voice a new character in the upcoming movie sequel to The Smurfs, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

She will be portraying Vexi, an evil version of Smurfette, who was voiced in the original film by Katy Perry. Much of the original cast of the movie — which included Broadway veterans Hank Azaria, Alan Cumming, Neil Patrick Harris and Paul Reubens — is expected to return for the sequel. Raja Gosnell will repeat directing duties.

Ricci made her Broadway debut in Time Stands Still. Her many film and television credits include The Addams Family, The Opposite of Sex, The Ice Storm, Pan Am, and Sleepy Hollow.
