Burrell, Binotto, Utley, and Crumb to Visit Island at the York

The York Theatre Company will present a public staged reading of the new musical Island on Monday, May 5.

A musical fable by Peter Link, Sundown), Joe Bravaco, and Larry Rosler, Island tells the story of a Manhattan couple who rediscover old friends — and find new hope — on a Caribbean island. The York reading of the musical will feature Terry Burrell (Thoroughly Modern Millie, Dreamgirls), Paul Binotto (Dreamgirls, Hair), Byron Utley (Rent), and Ann Crumb (Aspects of Love, Les Miserables). It will be directed by Donald Brenner (Rhinebeck, Here’s Love!) and will have musical direction by Margaret Dorn (The Accidentals).

Island will be performed on Monday, May 5 at 7pm at the York Theatre, located in the Citicorp Center (619 Lexington Avenue). Reservations may be made by calling the York at 212-935-5824.
