Full casting has been announced for the national tour of Legally Blonde The Musical, which will kick off at The Providence Performing Arts Center in Rhode Island, September 21-28. The musical features music and lyrics by Laurence O’Keefe and Nell Benjamin, with a book by Heather Hach. As on Broadway, Tony Award-winner Jerry Mitchell will serve as the director and choreographer.
Based on the film of the same name, Legally Blonde is about Elle Woods, a determined if seemingly ditzy college student who decides to become the first member of her sorority to attend Harvard Law School.
As previously announced, Becky Gulsvig will star as Elle Woods. Legally Blonde The Musical: The Search for Elle Woods third runner up Rhiannon Hansen will plays Elle’s best friend Margot and fourth runner-up Lauren Zakrin is an ensemble member and understudies the role of Elle. The principal cast will also include DB Bonds as Emmett, Natalie Joy Johnson as Paulette, Jeff McLean as Warner, Megan Lewis as Vivienne, Coleen Sexton as Brooke, Ken Land as Professor Callahan, Cortney Wolfson as Serena, Crystal Joy as Pilar and Gretchen Burghart as Enid.
Also featured in the cast are Sara Andreas, Ward Billeisen, Joshua James Campbell, Nick Dalton, Ven Daniel, Alex Ellis, Jay Garcia, Paul Jackel, Sarah Marie Jenkins, Leslie McDonel, Brian Patrick Murphy, Mamie Parris, Stacey Sargeant, Tally Sessions, Josh Walden, and Adam Zelasko.
Gulsvig was an original cast member in Legally Blonde, and understudied the role of Elle. She has also appeared on Broadway as Amber Von Tussle in Hairspray and as Wendy in the national tour of Peter Pan. Her TV credits include All My Children and Legally Blonde The Musical on MTV.
