The Barrington Stage Company (BSC) has announced major casting for its ninth season of shows.
Jeanne Goodman (Babes in Arms at Goodspeed Opera, Coming Up Next at Manhattan Theatre Club) and Chris Yates (Jane Eyre and Les Misérables on Broadway) will kick off the season as Fanny Brice and Nick Arnstein in the Jule Styne-Bob Merrill musical Funny Girl (June 25-July 19th). The show will be directed by BSC artistic director Julianne Boyd and choreographed by Tony Parise.
Next up will be Kenneth Lonergan’s Lobby Hero (July 23-August 2), directed by Rob Ruggiero and starring Andrew Benator (Things You Shouldn’t Say Past Midnight), David Palluck and Nicole Alifante (who starred in the original Off-Broadway production), and Curtis McClaren (The Exonerated). That production will be followed by the world premiere of The Game (August 7-August 23), based on Choderlos de Laclos’s classic novel Les Liaisons Dangereuses and starring Sara Ramirez (Broadway’s A Class Act) and Chris Innvar (Off-Broadway’s Floyd Collins) under the direction of Julianne Boyd.
From July 6 through 19, Dan Lauria of TV’s The Wonder Years will star in the world premiere of Mark St. Germain’s Ears on a Beatle with Bill Dawes (Burning Blue Off-Broadway). St. Germain will also direct the play, which focuses on two surveillance agents assigned to John Lennon. Neil LaBute’s The Shape of Things (July 30-August 10) will round out the season. The comedy-drama about lust, love, and trust will be directed by Andrew Volkoff and will star Will Beinbrink, Jessica Hency, Brian Henderson, and Caralyn Kozlowski.
All shows will be performed at the Consolati Performing Arts Center in Sheffield, Massachusetts. For ticket information, phone the BSC box office at 413-528-8888.
