Tony Award winner Anthony LaPaglia and Broadway actress Natalie Mendoza have been cast in the pilot for ABC’s Americana, about a legendary fashion designer and his family business, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The pilot will be directed by Philip Noyce and feature a script by Michael Seitzman.
LaPaglia won a Tony for his performance in the 1997 Broadway revival of A View From the Bridge and his other stage credits include Lend Me a Tenor, The Rose Tattoo, The Guys, On the Open Road, and Northeast Local.
Mendoza originated the role of Arachne in the Broadway musical Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark.
