San Francisco’s African-American Shakespeare Company has announced plans for its 2012-2013 season.
The season will open with a holiday production of the classic fairy tale Cinderella (December 7-23). Continuing the season will be a production of Shakespeare’s The Merry Wives of Windsor (March 2-24) set in the 1960’s in the shared back yards of a city neighborhood. Tennessee Williams’ Cat on a Hot Tin Roof (April 27-May 19), which investigates the lengths people will go to protect themselves and their loved ones, will be the final production of the season.
Productions will be staged at the Buriel Clay Theater at the African American Art and Culture Complex.
