Stephen Sondheim’s Road Show CD to Get June 30 Release

A CD recording of The Public Theatre’s production of the Stephen Sondheim-John Weidman musical Road Show will be released by PS Classics and Nonesuch on Tuesday, June 30.

The show, which had a previous incarnation (and recording) as Bounce, spans 40 years from the Alaskan Gold Rush to the Florida real estate boom in the ’30s, and tells the story of real-life brothers Wilson and Addison Mizner.

The Public production, which closed in December, was directed by Tony Award winner John Doyle and starred Michael Cerveris (Wilson), Alexander Gemignani (Addison), Alma Cuervo (Mama), Aisha de Haas (Ensemble), Claybourne Elder (Hollis), Colleen Fitzpatrick (Ensemble), Mylinda Hull (Ensemble), Mel Johnson, Jr. (Ensemble), Orville Mendoza (Ensemble), Anne L. Nathan (Ensemble), Tom Nelis (Ensemble), William Parry (Papa), Matt Stocke (Ensemble), William Youmans (Ensemble), and Kristine Zbornik (Ensemble).
