Michael Cerveris, Rinde Eckert, Elizabeth Marvel, et al. Set for Ripe Time’s Shape Shifting 2011: Veteran Voices

The lineup of performers who will be appearing in Ripe Time’s one-night-only performance of Shape Shifting 2011: Veteran Voices has been announced. The event, which will feature excerpts from plays about lives transformed by war, will be held at New York Theatre Workshop on Monday, January 10 at 7pm.

The evening will include Emily Ackerman and KJ Sanchez’s ReEntry, directed by Sanchez and featuring Sameerah Luqmaan-Harris, Joseph Harrell, Bobby Moreno, PJ Sosko, and Sheila Tapia; Kia Corthron’s Moot the Messenger , to be staged by Tamilla Woodard and featuring Chad Goodridge, Mike Hodge and April Matthis; and Bryan Doeerries’ Theatre of War, which will be performed by Reg E. Cathey, Adam Driver, and Elizabeth Marvel.

In addition, Ellen McLaughlin’s Septimus and Clarissa, which is adapted from Virginia Woolf’s Mrs. Dalloway will be on the program. Rachel Dickstein, who has co-developed the piece, will direct. The company will feature Craig Baldwin, Laura Butler, Rinde Eckert, LeeAnne Hutchison, Guy Paul, Paula McGonagle, Tommy Schrider, and Miriam Silverman.

A selection from Mark Wing-Davey’s staging of Sarah Ruhl’s Passion Play will round out the performance and feature Amelia Campbell, Michael Cerveris, and Kate Turnbull.

Alicia Anstead will moderate a post-performance discussion with the playwrights.
