Civil War Voices, Screenplay, and More Win MITF Awards

The winners of the Midtown International Theatre Festival (MITF) Eleventh Season Awards were announced in a ceremony held at New World Stages on Thursday, September 9.

James R. Harris’ Civil War Voices received a total of six awards including one for Outstanding Production of a Musical along with awards for performers Stephen Hope, Danielle Lee Greaves, and Arthur Marks. Scott Brooks’ Screenplay received both the Outstanding Production of a Play award and Outstanding Playwriting for a New Script.

Other awards were given to performers Frankie Alvarez, Alice Barden, Jennifer Gawlik, and April Woodall, as well as the ensemble of Most Likely To: The Senior Superlative Musical. In addition, Barden’s Alice & Elizabeth’s One Woman Show was named Outstanding Production of a Special Event.
