Bobby Cannavale, John Doman, Francisco Solorzano, and Michael Stuhlbarg will star in a reading of Israel Horovitz’s Sins of the Mother, to be presented as the kick-off event of Barefoot Theatre Company’s The 70/70 Horovitz Project, a year-long worldwide celebration of the 70th birthday of playwright Israel Horovitz. The reading, to be directed by Jo Bonney, will be held at Theatres at 45 Bleecker Street on March 31.

In this comic drama, a young man returns to the small fishing town he grew up in, and is drawn into a mystery that threatens to reveal his own past. Barefoot Theatre Company Board Member Pierre Dulaine will host the Red-Carpet event, which will begin with a cocktail hour from 7-8pm, followed by the reading. A portion of the proceeds will go to charity.

Horovitz is the author of such plays as The Indian Wants the Bronx, Line, The Primary English Class, and Park Your Car in Harvard Yard.
