Angelique Kidjo, Allen Toussaint, et al. to Present Newly Commissioned Works at Joe’s Pub

Joe’s Pub will begin a new series called New York Voices in November, which will feature critically acclaimed artists debuting original works that were commissioned by the venue.

Commissions include Lines by Toshi Reagon in collaboration with playwright Winter Miller and director Lear deBesonnet (November 4, 5, 7); Ordained by Lady Rizo with director Niegel Smith (November 4, 11, 16 & 18); a work-in-progress from Angelique Kidjo with director Jo Bonney (November 17 & 18); No Place to Go from Ethan Lipton & his Orchestra (November 10-12); and A Southern Night by Allen Toussaint (November 20-23).
