Tom Duane, Doric Wilson, et al. to Be Honored at Fresh Fruit Festival Awards

State Senator Tom Duane and playwright Doric Wilson will be among the honorees at the Fresh Fruit Festival Awards of Distinction or the “Fruities,” which will be presented at a ceremony at the Jan Hus Playhouse Theater, on June 21.

The awards honor outstanding performances in all areas of the multidiscipline Fresh Fruit Festival, as well as recognizing community leaders whose achievements include supporting the arts and the LGBT community. This year’s event will be co-hosted by Lady Clover Honey (who will also perform) and Frank Calo. Additional performers will include recording artist Nhojj, singer Ana Iza Otis; Outmusic award winner Nhojj, and cabaret performer Teresa Fischer.

Additional recipients include Tony Sawicki (producing), Rome Neal (curating), Arianna Bedford (poetry), Craig Fox (acting), Louise Gallanda (acting), Kevin Peckina (acting), Bill Crouch (solo performance), Ana Iza Otis (music), Nhojj (music), Marissa Maislen (dance/choreography), YaliniDream (new artist), Heidi Russell (Spirit Award), David Hilder (directing), Judy Guyll (directing-solo performer); Manny Igrejas (playwriting), Caren Joe Shapiro (visual artist), Stefanie Dadwey & BJ Watkins (volunteers), Alex Bond, David Carson (event), Christopher Anderson (dance /performance), and Spotlight On Festivals (supporting the arts).
