Elevator Repair Service’s Gatz will return to The Public Theater, running March 14 – May 28. John Collins has directed the production, which originally played at the theater in late 2010.

In the ensemble-created piece, 13 actors bring every word of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s The Great Gatsby to the stage in a two-part, 6 1/2-hour theatrical event.

The company will be led by Scott Shepherd, who won an Obie Award for his performance as Nick, along with Laurena Allan (Myrtle), Frank Boyd (George), Jim Fletcher (Jim), Ross Fletcher (Henry C. Gatz), Mike Iveson (Ewing), Vin Knight (Chester), Annie McNamara (Catherine), Kate Scelsa (Lucille), Scott Shepherd (Nick), Susie Sokol (Jordan), Victoria Vazquez (Daisy), and Ben Williams (Michaelis).

The creative team includes scenic designer Louisa Thompson, costume designer Colleen Werthmann, lighting designer Mark Barton, and sound designer Ben Williams.

In related news, The Public Theater has announced that Nathan Englander’s The Twenty-Seventh Man, scheduled to have run in spring 2012 will now be produced in November 2012.
