Michael Sheen Cast in Showtime’s Masters of Sex Pilot

Stage and screen star Michael Sheen has been cast as famed human sexuality researcher William Masters in Showtime’s drama pilot Masters of Sex, according to Deadline.com


The pilot is written by Michelle Ashford and directed by John Madden. The series will focus on the life and work of Masters (Sheen) and his partner Virginia Johnson (to be played by Lizzy Caplan).


Sheen played David Frost in the Broadway and film versions of Frost/Nixon and played Mozart in the Broadway revival of Amadeus. He most recently appeared on stage in Hamlet and co-directed The Passion. His many film credits include Midnight in Paris and The Twilight Saga: New Moon.
