Will Rock of Ages Be Your Next High School Musical?

Now that Rock of Ages has exited the Broadway boards, professional and amateur theaters who wanna rock are free to do so with the newly available performance rights. After playing its final Broadway performance on Sunday, January 18, the show joins Samuel French, Inc.'s musical collection, which also includes Chicago, Grease, The Rocky Horror Show, and Heathers.

Rock of Ages opened at Broadway's Brooks Atkinson Theatre on April 7, 2009, and earned five Tony nominations. Set in 1987 on L.A.’s famous Sunset Strip, a small-town girl and big-city dreamer meet and fall in love to the greatest songs of the 1980s. With book by Chris D’Arienzo, the musical features 28 classic rock tunes including "I Wanna Know What Love Is," "Every Rose Has Its Thorn," "Wanted Dead or Alive," "Here I Go Again," "Don’t Stop Believin'," and more.
