Now that Rock of Ages has exited the Broadway boards, professional and amateur theaters who wanna rock are free to do so with the newly available performance rights. After playing its final Broadway performance on Sunday, January 18, the show joins Samuel French, Inc.'s musical collection, which also includes Chicago, Grease, The Rocky Horror Show, and Heathers.

"Not only is Samuel French home to some of the world’s greatest musicals, we are the place for great musicals that ROCK!" says Executive Director Bruce Lazarus. "Rock of Ages is a hilarious, tongue-in-cheek love story set to some of the most iconic and enduring rock anthems. This show gets audiences singing along, dancing in the aisles, and ready to party like none other!"

Rock of Ages opened at Broadway's Brooks Atkinson Theatre on April 7, 2009, and earned five Tony nominations. Set in 1987 on L.A.’s famous Sunset Strip, a small-town girl and big-city dreamer meet and fall in love to the greatest songs of the 1980s. With book by Chris D’Arienzo, the musical features 28 classic rock tunes including "I Wanna Know What Love Is," "Every Rose Has Its Thorn," "Wanted Dead or Alive," "Here I Go Again," "Don’t Stop Believin'," and more.
