Tony nominee and multiplatinum recording artist Vanessa Williams will join the roster of "Special Guest Star" vocalists slated to appear in Broadway's Cotton Club-inspired musical After Midnight. Williams will play performances from April 1-May 11 at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre.

Directed and choreographed by Warren Carlyle, After Midnight began performances on October 18, 2013, with American Idol alum Fantasia in the "Special Guest Star'' slot, now occupied by pop singer k.d. lang. Lang will depart the cast on March 9 and will be replaced by Grammy winners Toni Braxton and Kenny "Babyface" Edmonds from March 18-30.

Williams earned a Tony nomination for her performance as the Witch in the 2002 revival of Stephen Sondheim's Into the Woods. She last appeared on Broadway in 2013 revival of Horton Foote's The Trip to Bountiful, starring opposite Tony Award winner Cicely Tyson.

The cast of After Midnight currently features Dulé Hill, Tony winner Adriane Lenox, Julius "iGlide" Chisolm, Virgil J. Gadson, Tony nominee Karine Plantadit, Dormeshia Sumbry-Edwards, Jared Grimes, and a host of others.
