Unlock’d Opens Tonight at the Duke on 42nd Street

Prospect Theater Company celebrates the opening of Sam Carner and Derek Gregor’s award-winning musical.

Prospect Theater Company’s new musical comedy, Unlock’d, opens this evening at the Duke on 42nd Street. Featuring a book and lyrics by Sam Carner and music by Derek Gregor, the show received the prestigious Richard Rodgers Award in 2004 as well as the New York Musical Theatre Festival’s “Best of the Fest” honor in 2007.

Set in 18th century England, Unlock’d tells the story of Clarissa who is fed up with playing second fiddle to her beautiful and flirtatious sister Belinda, and decides to “cut her down to size.” The cast features Jennifer Blood, Jillian Gottlieb, Sydney James Harcourt, and A.J. Shively, along with Maria Couch, Adam Daveline, Chris Gunn, Catherine LeFrere, Lukas Poost, Chandler Reeves, Emily Rogers, and Hansel Tan.

The creative team includes scenic design by Wilson Chin and David L. Arsenault, costume design by Amy Clark, lighting design by Cory Pattak, and sound design by Kurt Fischer.
