We caught up with Leon at the press junket for A Raisin in the Sun, and he shared his thoughts on a new show that might change the face of musical theater.
"I think it will change what Broadway is about," says Kenny Leon when asked about Holler If Ya Hear Me, a new musical that uses the songs of iconic rapper Tupac Shakur. Leon will direct the show, which begins performances at the Palace Theatre on May 26. At the meet-and-greet for Leon's current project, the springtime revival of A Raisin in the Sun, we asked the busy director for some intel on the new rap tuner, and he proudly spilled the beans in the video below.
