Full casting has been announced for the Kneehigh Theatre’s critically acclaimed production of Brief Encounter, which will be presented on Broadway by The Roundabout Theatre Company at Studio 54, September 10-December 5, with an opening on September 28. Emma Rice has adapted and directed the piece.

Brief Encounter combines elements of Noël Coward’s screenplay, and the one act play on which it was based, with song, dance and Technicolor displays of emotion. It previously played New York at St. Ann’s Warehouse in December 2009.

The cast will feature Joseph Alessi (Albert/Fred), Dorothy Atkinson (Beryl), Damon Daunno (Bill/Bobbie), Gabriel Ebert (Stanley), Edward Jay (Musician), Annette McLaughlin (Myrtle), Adam Pleeth (Musician), Tristan Sturrock (Alec), and Hannah Yelland (Laura).

The design team includes Neil Murray (sets & costumes), Malcolm Rippeth (lighting), Simon Baker (sound) and Gemma Carrington & Jon Driscoll (projection).
