Tony Committee Announces Additional Eligibility Rulings for 2008-2009 Season; American Buffalo Ineligible
Among the musical rulings, James Barbour will be considered in the Leading Actor category for his performance in A Tale of Two Cities, and Graham Phillips will be considered in the Leading Actor category for his role in 13.
Among the play rulings, Katie Holmes and Patrick Wilson will be considered in the Featured Actress and Actor categories for their roles in All My Sons, Mackenzie Crook will be considered in the Featured Actor category for his role in The Seagull, Jan Maxwell and David Rasche will be considered in the Leading Actress and Actor categories for their roles in To Be Or Not To Be, and Elisabeth Moss will be considered in the Featured Actress category for her role in Speed-The-Plow.
As previously announced, at the first eligibility meeting, the committee declared that both Jeff Bowen and Hunter Bell of [title of show] will both be considered in the Leading Actor in a Musical category.
All other decisions were consistent with opening night credits.
This is the second time the Tony Awards Administration Committee has met this year. It will meet three more times to discuss the eligibility of shows opening in the 2008-2009 season. The cut-off date for eligibility is April 30, 2009.
The awards will be presented by the League of American Theatres and Producers and the American Theatre Wing on Sunday, June 7 and broadcast live on CBS.
