Tommy Tune to Make Café Carlyle Debut With More Taps, Tunes and Tall Tales

Nine-time Tony Award winner Tommy Tune will make his Café Carlyle debut on April 22 in a series of concerts titled More Taps, Tunes and Tall Tales, which will run through May 3. Musical director Michael Biagi will accompany on piano.

Tune has earned acclaim as a performer, choreographer, and director in over a dozen Broadway productions spanning nearly five decades. He made his Broadway debut in 1965 in the Sherlock Holmes-inspired musical Baker Street. His numerous theatrical accolades include Tony Awards for Best Actor in a Musical for My One and Only, Best Featured Actor in a Musical for Seesaw, Best Choreography for A Day in Hollywood/A Night in the Ukraine, My One and Only, Grand Hotel, and The Will Rogers Follies, and Best Direction of a Musical for Nine, Grand Hotel, and The Will Rogers Follies.

In 2008, Tune earned the Fred & Adele Astaire Lifetime Achievement Award as well as the Actors' Fund of America Julie Harris Lifetime Achievement Award, and in 2009, he was inducted into the National Museum of Dance's Mr. & Mrs. Cornelius Vanderbilt Whitney Hall of Fame.
