The Public Theater has announced that the current run of Richard Nelson’s four-play series The Apple Family Plays: Scenes From Life in the Country, will be reordered for future television broadcast by THIRTEEN Productions LLC. Filming is scheduled to take place the week of December 16, following the end of the run on December 15.

The Apple Family Plays, which are both written and directed by Nelson, focus on the fictional, liberal Apple family of Rhinebeck, New York. Each year since 2010, Nelson has premiered a new play at The Public about these characters, concluding this year with stagings of all four plays, including the newest, Regular Singing.

The cast features Maryann Plunkett (Barbara), Jay O. Sanders (Richard), Laila Robins (Marian), Jon DeVries (Benjamin), Stephen Kunken (Tim), and Sally Murphy (Jane).

The plays have scenic and costume design by Susan Hilferty, lighting design by Jennifer Tipton, and sound design by Scott Lehrer and Will Pickens.
