The Marvelous Wonderettes to Close Off-Broadway January 3

The Marvelous Wonderettes will play its final Off-Broadway performance at the Westside Theatre on January 3. Written and directed by Roger Bean, the production will at the time have played 19 previews and 545 regular performances.

The Marvelous Wonderettes opened on September 14, 2008. The show centers on four young women at their senior prom in 1958 and includes such songs as “Lollipop,” “Dream Lover,” “Stupid Cupid,” “Lipstick on Your Collar,” “Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me,” “It’s My Party” and “It’s In His Kiss (The Shoop Shoop Song).” The company currently features Courtney Balan, Christina DeCicco, Lindsay Mendez, and Lowe Taylor.

The creative team includes Mike Carnahan (set), Bobby Pearce (costumes/wigs), Jeremy Pivnick (lighting), Cricket S. Myers (sound), Brian William Baker (musical direction), and Janet Miller (choreography).
