Waterwell's world-premiere, site-specific production of The Courtroom, a reenactment of deportation proceedings, will receive a special encore performance at the Greene Space on February 19. The event will also feature a talkback with the cast and crew following the show.

The Courtroom features Happy Anderson, Michael Braun, Kathleen Chalfant, Hanna Cheek, Michael Bryan French, Mick Hilgers, Ruthie Ann Miles, Linda Powell, and Kristin Villanueva. The production is directed by Lee Sunday Evans and features text arranged from real court transcripts by Arian Moayed.

In 2004, an immigrant from the Philippines who was married to a US Citizen came to this country on a K3 Visa. After inadvertently registering to vote at the DMV in Chicago, receiving a voter registration card in the mail, and voting, her removal proceeding was set in motion. It began in Immigration Court and her case was eventually heard by the US Court of Appeals for the 7th Circuit. The Courtroom is performed entirely verbatim from the court transcripts.
