Edinburgh International Festival favorite The City Club will have its American premiere, opening April 23 at the Minetta Lane Theatre. Mitchell Maxwell will direct.

Written by a British and American team comprised of composers and lyricists James Compton, Tony DeMeur, and Tim Brown and author Glenn M. Stewart, the musical is a noir morality tale of intrigue, murder, corruption, and sex, supported by a blues and jazz score. It is the story of Chaz Davenport, the privileged son of corrupt family, who is obsessed with music and the people who write it.

Choreography will be by Lorin Latarro, and the design team will include Rob Bissinger (set design), David C. Woolard (costume design), David F. Segal (lighting design), and Carl Casella (sound design).
