TED Talks Live Ready for Final Installment, "Science & Wonder"

Ted Talks Live, a six-night speaker event featuring TED Talks, short films, and performances hosted by TED and PBS at the Town Hall, continues today with its second program, titled "Science & Wonder." The program will take place on November 5 and 6 at 7:30pm. TED Talks Live is hosted by author, comedian, and activist Baratunde Thurston.

Guests scheduled for the November 5 event include Jeremy Bailenson, founding director of Stanford University’s Virtual Human Interaction Lab; Paul Cantelon, film composer and pianist; Thomas Dolby, singer-songwriter; Danielle Feinberg, Pixar’s director of photography – lighting; Zaria Forman, artist; Jim Green, NASA’s Planetary Science Division director; Paula Hammond, MIT professor; Eric Haseltine, author, futurist and innovator; Angela McCluskey, singer-songwriter; and Latif Nasser, reporter and research director for Radiolab.

On November 6, guests will include Sangeeta Bhatia, MIT professor; Paul Cantelon, film composer and pianist; Thomas Dolby, singer-songwriter; Juan Enriquez, leading authority in genomic code and author of Evolving Ourselves; Danielle Feinberg, Pixar’s director of photography – lighting; Zaria Forman, artist; Jim Green, NASA’s Planetary Science Division director; Angela McCluskey, singer-songwriter; Latif Nasser, reporter, and research director for Radiolab; Arati Prabhakar, director of Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA); John "Scrapper" Sneider, trumpet; and Tierney Thys, marine biologist.

TED Talks Live is offering the opportunity to view a TED event for free to students, educators, and veterans who apply for passes online. More than 1,800 tickets have been distributed to students and educators and are sold out, while free tickets are still available for veterans.

Each of the three programs will be filmed and broadcast as three one-hour specials to premiere on PBS in spring 2016.
