Symphony Space to Launch Summer Stock on Broadway

Symphony Space will launch a new series called Summer Stock on Broadway with Manhattan Madcaps of 1924, a new musical using 17 songs written by Richard Rodgers and Lorenz Hart.

The show, to be directed by Annette Joles, will run July 6-22, with an offficial opening slated for July 12. The book will be by “Jerzy Turnpike,” choreography will be by Regina Larkin, and music direction will be by Lanny Meyers. Casting will be announced at a later date.

The musical will focus on four couples seeking happiness in Manhattan in 1924. Among the songs that will be heard are “Any Old Place With You,” “Way Out West,” “He Was Too Good to Me,” “Give It Back to the Indians,” and “Manhattan.”
