Screen and stage veteran Stockard Channing will guest star on the CBS drama The Good Wife as the mercurial mom of Julianna Margulies‘ Alicia Florrick, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The character is described as “heavily influenced by the 1960s’ counterculture era.”

Channing recently appeared in Culture Project’s revival of The Exonerated Off-Broadway and in Other Desert Cities on Broadway, for which she received a Tong Award nomination. She won the award for her performance in Joe Egg. On screen, she is best known for her roles in the films of Six Degrees of Separation and Grease, as well as her work as First Lady Abbey Bartlet on Aaron Sorkin‘s The West Wing.
