Additional casting has been announced for the Roundabout Theatre Company’s Broadway production of The Mystery of Edwin Drood, to be presented at Studio 54 beginning October 19, 2012, with an opening night set for November 29. Scott Ellis will direct, with choreography by Warren Carlyle and musical direction by Paul Gemignani.

Featuring book, music & lyrics by Rupert Holmes, the musical murder mystery is based on an unfinished novel by Charles Dickens. Rivera will play Princess Puffer in this show in which everyone on stage is a suspect in the murder of young Edwin Drood–and it’s up to the audience to choose the killer.

In addition to the previously reported Chita Rivera, who will play Princess Puffer, the production will star Stephanie J. Block (Edwin Drood), Will Chase (John Jasper), Gregg Edelman (Reverend Mr. Crisparkle), and Jim Norton (Chairman).

The cast will also include Andy Karl (Neville Landless), Jessie Mueller (Helena Landless), Betsy Wolfe (Rosa Bud), Nicholas Barasch (Deputy), Peter Benson (Bazzard), Robert Creighton (Durdles), Alison Cimmet, Nick Corley, Justin Greer, Shannon Lewis, Kiira Schmidt, Eric Sciotto, Jim Walton, and Cody Williams. Additional casting will be announced shortly.

The design team includes Anna Louizos (sets), William Ivey Long (costumes), Brian Nason (lighting) and Tony Meola (sound).
