Broadway vets Stephanie J. Block (The Mystery of Edwin Drood) and Aaron Lazar (The Last Ship) will join forces to take part in the New York Pops' annual A Cabaret Evening at 54 Below. The event will take place on September 28 and serve as a benefit for the Pops' PopsEd Programs and Ronald McDonald House New York.

Lazar will be joined by his music director and pianist Jesse Kissel, cellist Sarah Carter, and drummer Dan Weiner. Block will be accompanied by her music director and pianist Ben Cohn, cellist Allison Seidner, and drummer Sean McDaniel. New York Pops Musical Director Steven Reineke will host a pre-show champagne reception, as well as the performance itself.

Since 2006, the PopsEd residency at Ronald McDonald House New York has helped children fighting cancer discover their creative voice by teaching basic musical, creative writing, and instrumental techniques. The multifaceted program meets twice weekly and includes piano lessons and a choir, along with Rockin’ the House, a special residency created for preteens and teenagers. Music lessons help the children and families retain a sense of normalcy, nurturing emotional growth and well-being.
