Among the events set to commemorate the one-year anniversary of the attack on the World Trade Center will be a special performance at Lincoln Center's Vivian Beaumont Theater of Anne Nelson's play The Guys. The two-character show about a bereaved fire department captain who enlists an editor to help him write eulogies for his men has been running at the Flea Theater downtown since January 17.

This free performance of the Flea production at the Beaumont on September 11 at 8pm is being hosted by Lincoln Center Theater. It will star Sigourney Weaver, who created the role of the editor; she was the first of a series of high-profile actresses to fill the part, including Swoosie Kurtz, Susan Sarandon, and Marlo Thomas (who is currently playing the role at the Flea). Weaver will co-star at the Beaumont with an actor, not yet named, who has already done the show at the Flea; possibilities include Bill Murray, Tim Robbins, Bill Irwin, Tom Wopat, and Steven Lang. The Guys is directed by Jim Simpson, artistic director of the Flea (and Weaver's husband).

Free tickets will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis starting at noon on September 11 at the Vivian Beaumont Box Office, 150 West 65th Street. For more information, call 212-362-7600.
