Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants to Be Developed as a Stage Musical

The show would be adapted from the film franchise.

The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants film franchise is set to be developed into a stage musical, according to Deadline. Seasoned Broadway producer Scott Delman, whose most recent offering is Tina Fey's Mean Girls will helm the project as lead producer for Final Power Chord Blue Spruce Productions.

The property was acquired from Alcon and Alloy, and the company is expected to stay involved with the project.

The franchise, which includes The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants (2005) and The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2 (2008), is based on a popular series of books by Ann Brashares. The films starred Amber Tamblyn as Tabitha "Tibby" Tomko-Rollins, Alexis Bledel as Lena Kaligaris, America Ferrera as Carmen Lowell, and Blake Lively as Bridget Vreeland.
