Last night’s frigid weather didn’t stop the Flea theater from holding a benefit luau at the Tribeca Rooftop. Those present had tons o’ fun wearing Hawaaian shirts and leis, competing in a limbo contest, and so on. Here’s stage and film star Sigourney Weaver — the wife of Jim Simpson, artistic director of the Flea’s Bat Theater Company — in the midst of the revelry.
Jim Simpson (right, with microphone) led the limboing.
Here, Simpson and Weaver welcome everyone to the event.
Among the many notables present: Polly Draper, who appeared in the Flea productions of The Guys and Getting Into Heaven and is soon to open on Broadway in Brooklyn Boy…
…Bernard Gersten, executive producer of Lincoln Center Theater, with Cora Cahan, president of The New 42nd Street…
…playwrights Len Jenkin and Mac Wellman…
…and Barbara Eliran, CEO of Eliran Murphy Group, with Darren Sussman, president and co-founder of TheaterMania.
Here’s Weaver with her old friend and former Yale schoolmate Christopher Durang…
…and here’s Paula Ehrenberg, one of the Bats, with her good friend John Issendorf of TheaterMania.
Bats all, folks!
