Sierra Boggess, Sally Mayes, Josh Strickland et al. Set for York Readings

The York Theatre Company has announced casting for the next offerings in its Developmental Reading Series, held in Saint Peter’s Church (54th Street and Lexington).

Sierra Boggess, Edwin Cahill, Linda Cameron, Deborah Cardona, Kerry Conte, Jack Doyle, William Thomas Evans, Joy Franz, Michael Halling, Michael Hunsaker, Stacey Scotte, Scott Schafer, Michelle Ragusa, and Melanie Vaughan will be featured in The Age of Innocence (October 20 at 7:30pm), based on the novel by Edith Wharton. Featuring music by Ted Kociolek, with book and lyrics by Walter Holland and Kociolek, the musical centers around a young attorney whose life is transformed after he encounters the beautiful and mysterious European cousin of his loving but conventional fiancée.

Nancy Anderson, Sally Mayes, Michael F. McGuirk, Javier Muñoz, and Josh Strickland will star in Play it Cool (October 22 at 3pm), conceived by Larry Dean Harris, with book by Martin Casella and Harris, music by Phil Swann, and lyrics by Mark Winkler. Previously seen in the 2008 New York Musical Theatre Festival, the piece is centered on Mary’s Hideaway, a fictional jazz club, circa 1953, that caters to gay men and lesbians.
