Full Casting Set for September ShakesBEER Pub Crawls

New York Shakespeare Exchange has announced full casting for its September 10 and 17 ShakesBEER pub crawls.

Julie DeLaurier, Eleanor Handley, Devin E. Haqq, Kim Krane, Cory O’Brien-Pniewski, Ed Stanley, and Carey Van Driest will join the previously announced Hannah Elless (Bright Star) to reenact scenes from Romeo & Juliet, As You Like It, The Merry Wives of Windsor, and Martin McDonagh's dark comedy The Cripple of Inishmaan.

Launching at The Gaf bar, the ShakesBEER crawl will hit four bars in the course of an afternoon (the others are The Waylon, Perdition, and Lansdowne). At each of these establishments a different classic scene is performed by the New York Shakespeare Exchange ensemble. "ShakesBEER" will be a special event of Origin's 1st Irish Festival.)

NY Shakespeare Exchange has generated attention for innovative programs like The Sonnet Project, in which short films based on all 154 Shakespeare sonnets are being shot in areas throughout New York City by diverse filmmakers. (The collection now numbers 110.) The launch of an international initiative will be announced soon.
