The Fools’ Theatre has announced casting for Stephen Jeffreys’ The Libertine, to run May 14-30 at the Chernuchin Theater. Eric Tucker will direct the production.

Set in 17th-century England, the play explores the life of John Wilmot, the Second Earl of Rochester, a brilliant and scandalous poet, satirist and philanderer, whose behavior wreaks havoc on the lives of those around and causes repeated clashing with the King of England.

The company will feature Ken Schatz, Rufus Collins, Peter Davenport, Sarah Doudna, Olivia Gilliatt, Vivian Leheny, Ted Lewis, Garth McCardle, Andrus Nichols, Simon Pearl, and Carey Urban.

The creative team will include Alexander Sovronsky (original music), Sarah Doudna (choreography), Ella Sawtell (costume design), Drew Vanderberg (lighting design), and Kristina Worrall (sound design).
