Rosie O’Donnell has canceled her scheduled appearance in Seth Rudetsky’s Broadway Chatterbox at Don’t Tell Mama this Thursday, November 14, at 6pm. She will be replaced by Steven Weber, current co-star of The Producers.

“The deal is that Rosie is just really nervous because [her girlfriend] Kelly is about to go into labor,” says host Rudetsky. “Kelly is in Nyack, not on 81st Street; so if she does go into labor, it’s a half-hour trip to Nyack for Rosie, and she’s freaked out about it. Kelly’s not actually due for two weeks but they were afraid she might go into labor early, and I don’t want to be the person to prevent Rosie from getting to the hospital. She told me that she’ll do [the Chatterbox] after the baby is born. I’ll probably book her for my third anniversary show in January.”

Rudetsky says he’s thrilled to have Weber as a replacement: “Steven called me and he was so cute. He said, ‘Seth, I’ve spent my life being second choice and I’m not gonna stop now!’ I’m really excited because he promised to have good stories about the b-job sequence in Single White Female.” For information on Seth Rudetsky’s Broadway Chatterbox, click here.
