Rosalyn Coleman, Peter Jay Fernandez, Lynda Gravatt, Portia Set for Zooman and the Sign

Full cast and creative team information has been announced for Signature Theatre Company’s revival of Charles Fuller’s Zooman and the Sign, to play March 3-April 26, with an opening set for March 24. Stephen McKinley Henderson will direct.

In the drama, a random act of violence devastates Reuben Tate’s family and scares their once caring community into silence. The play is the final production of Signature’s 2008-09 season celebrating the historic Negro Ensemble Company.

The cast will include Ron Canada (Emmett Tate), Amari Cheatom (Zooman), Rosalyn Coleman (Rachel Tate), Tre Davis (Russell Adams), Peter Jay Fernandez (Donald Jackson), Lynda Gravatt (Ash Boswell), Jamal Mallory-McCree (Victor Tate), Evan Parke (Reuben Tate), and Portia (Grace Georges).

The creative team will include Shaun Motley (set), Katherine Roth (costumes), Matthew Frey (lighting), and Robert Kaplowitz (sound).
