The Madison Square Garden Company has officially kicked off the holiday season, with events celebrating the organziation's upcoming productions of The Radio City Christmas Spectacular and the Broadway musical Elf.

On October 14, the Elf Snow Globe Challenge was held. Fans dived into a 15-foot pool filled with cookies, candy, candy canes, candy corn, to look for Buddy the Elf's missing snow globe. Meanwhile, on October 15, rehearsals officially began for the annual Christmas Spectacular at the famed Radio City Music Hall, and the Rockettes invited the press in for a kick-line photo op.

Inspired by the 2003 film that starred Will Ferrell, Elf has a score by Matthew Sklar and Chad Beguelin, with a book by Thomas Meehan and Bob Martin. The story of an orphan raised by Santa's elves and his quest to find his family, Elf played on Broadway in 2010 and 2012. It will run at the Theater at Madison Square Garden December 9-27.
