Robert Lepage, Bartlett Sher, Bryn Terfel, Deborah Voigt, et al. Set for MetTalks

The Metropolitan Opera has announced the schedule for its MetTalks series, panel discussions with the casts and creative teams of the company’s new productions. All MetTalks will be held in the Met auditorium and will last for one hour.

The series will begin on September 22 with a conversation about Das Rheingold, featuring director Robert Lepage who will discuss his vision for the Wagner opera with star Bryn Terfel and Met General Manager Peter Gelb.

Other panels will center on Boris Godunov (October 1), with bass René Pape, conductor Valery Gergiev and director Stephen Wadsworth; Nicholas Hytner’s staging of Don Carlo (November 1), featuring Yannick Nézet-Seguin, Roberto Alagna, Ferruccio Furlanetto, and Simon Keenlyside; La Traviata, with director Willy Decker, conductor Gianandrea Noseda, and stars Marina Poplavskaya and Matthew Polenzani; Nixon in China (February 1), featuring composer John Adams, director Peter Sellars, set designer Adrianne Lobel, choreographer Mark Morris, and star James Maddalena; Le Comte Ory (March 10), with director Bartlett Sher and members of the cast, including Juan Diego Flórez; and Die Walküre (April 1), featuring Deborah Voigt and Stephanie Blythe.
