Robert La Fosse will direct Obie Award winner David Drake in Drake’s new show My Tawny Valentine, to run February 17 – March 2 at the Laurie Beechman Theatre at the West Bank Café. LaFosse replaces the previously announced David Briggs.

La Fosse’s Broadway credits include his Tony Award nominated turn in Jerome Robbins’ Broadway as well as Dancin’. In addition, he was Principal Dancer at both American Ballet Theatre and New York City Ballet, and as a choreographer, he has created balletic works for such theater productions as Carousel at Paper Mill Playhouse and Splendora at American Place Theater.

My Tawny Valentine marks the unheralded return of Tawny Heatherton (played by Drake), a lovably eccentric showbiz survivor and “one hit wonder” of the disco zeitgeist of the early 1980s, who recalls her life in show business and reuniting with her long-lost aunt Joey Heatherton at the Mohegan Sun Resort & Casino.

The show features original music by Trevor Kuprel, music direction by Lance Cruce, and video by Ned Stresen Reuter.
