Robert De Niro to Receive Golden Globe’s Cecil B. DeMille Award

Stage and screen star Robert De Niro will receive the Cecil B. DeMille Award for Lifetime Achievement at the Golden Globes Awards, to be held on January 16 in Los Angeles. Ricky Gervais will host the ceremony.

De Niro appeared on Broadway in the 1986 play, Cuba & His Teddy Bear, for which he received a Theatre World Award. He has won two Academy Awards, for The Godfather, Part II and Raging Bull, and received nominations for his performances in Taxi Driver, The Deer Hunter, Awakenings, and Cape Fear.

He will be seen in the upcoming films The Dark Fields and Meet the Fockers and is in negotiations to appear in Garry Marshall’s ensemble film New Year’s Day.
