Emmy Award winner Rhea Perlman will make her London stage debut on June 25 when she takes on the role of Bertha in Matthew Warchus’ production of Mark Camoletti’s comedy, Boeing-Boeing at the Comedy Theater. She will join current cast members Adrian Dunbar, Doon Mackichan, Amy Nuttall, Elena Roger, and Neil Stuke.

The play concerns Bernard, a successful architect living in Paris, who thinks he can easily cope with his three air hostess fiancées, thanks to the help of his long-suffering housekeeper Bertha, who reluctantly has the role of romantic air-traffic controller. When old school chum Robert arrives, Bernard relishes the chance to show his wide-eyed friend his first-class operation at work, but things don’t go so smoothly.

Perlman’s stage credits include The Exonerated, The Tale of the Allergist’s Wife, and The Last Night of Ballyhoo. She received four Emmys for her work as Carla Tortelli on Cheers. Her other film and television credits include Mad About You, Frasier and Matlida, in which she was directed by and co-starred opposite her husband, Danny DeVito.
