Raul Esparza, Edward Hibbert, Jeff Blumenkrantz, John Ellison Conlee to Join Donna Murphy and Sutton Foster in Encores! Anyone Can Whistle

Raúl Esparza, Edward Hibbert, Jeff Blumenkrantz, and John Ellison Conlee will join previously announced stars Donna Murphy and Sutton Foster in Stephen Sondheim and Arthur Laurents’ Anyone Can Whistle, to be presented by New York City Center Encores! April 8-11. The production will be directed and choreographed by Casey Nicholaw, with musical direction by Rob Berman.

This 1964 experimental satire took aim at every target on the American cultural scene of the moment — conformity, psychology, race relations, greed, religion and politics. Esparza will play J. Bowden Hapgood, with Foster as Nurse Fay Apple and Murphy as Cora Hoover Hooper. Blumenkrantz will be Treasurer Cooley, Conlee will play Police Chief Magruder, and Hibbert will play Comptroller Schub.
