Randy Harrison to Star in Berkshire Theatre Festival’s Cuckoo’s Nest

Randy Harrison will return to the Berkshire Theatre Festival to play Billy Bibbitt in Dale Wasserman’s One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, July 10-28. The production will be directed by Eric Hill and will star Jonathan Epstein as Randle Patrick McMurphy. The role of Bibbitt was played by Gene Wilder in the play’s original Broadway production and by Brad Dourif in the Oscar-winning 1975 film version.

The festival’s Main Stage season will also include Terrence McNally’s Love! Valour! Compassion, directed by Anders Cato, June 19-July 7; Paul Osborn’s Morning’s at Seven, directed by Vivian Matalon, July 31-August 11; and George Bernard Shaw’s Mrs. Warren’s Profession, also directed by Cato, August 14-September 1.

The Unicorn Theatre at BTF will house Hill’s production of Tennesee Williams’ The Glass Menagerie, May 24-June 30; Eric Simonson’s workshop production of Rick Cleveland’s solo show My Pal Goerge, July 3-21; Marc Geller’s production of Julie Jensen’s Two-Headed, July 25-August 18; and Willy Russell’s Educating Rita, August 21-October 14.

Harrison previously appeared at the BTF in Equus and Amadeus. Best known for his role of Justin Taylor on the Showtime series Queer As Folk, he is currently playing Tom Wingfield in the Guthrie Theatre production of The Glass Menagerie.
