Rachel Weisz to Appear at BAM Screening of Terence Davies’ The Deep Blue Sea on March 15

BAMCinematek will present a special screening of Terence Davies’ The Deep Blue Sea, adapted from the play by Terrence Rattigan, on March 15 as part of a retrospective of the film director’s work. Both Davies and the film’s star, Oscar winner and Olivier Award winner Rachel Weisz, will take part in a Q&A after the screening.


The movie, which debuts commercially on March 23, stars Weisz, as a woman who leaves her husband (Simon Russell Beale) and their bourgeois life for a passionate, tragic relationship with a former RAF pilot (Tom Hiddleston).


The retrospective, which continues March 21-27, will also include Davies’ Of Time and the City ; The Terence Davies Trilogy, which is comprised of three short films, Children, Madonna and Child, and Death and Transfiguration; Distant Voices, Still Lives ; The House of Mirth; and The Neon Bible.
