The Public Theater has extended its New York premiere production of Straight White Men, written and directed by Young Jean Lee. The production, which was originally scheduled to end its run on December 7, will now offer performances through December 14.

Straight White Men, a father-son drama, stars Austin Pendleton, who leads the company as Ed. The play also stars Pete Simpson as Drew, James Stanley as Matt, and Gary Wilmes as Jake. Set on Christmas, Ed and his three adult sons come together for trash-talking, pranks, and takeout, and end up confronting problems of identity and privilege.

"Straight White Men is a brilliant, sly, disturbing jewel of a play and it is wonderful to see how our audiences have embraced it," said Public Theater Artistic Director Oskar Eustis. "This is just one extension in what we hope will be a long series of Young Jean Lee shows at The Public."
