Primary Stages Announces 2013-2014 Season

Primary Stages has announced the initial selections for its 2013-2014 season, which begins in July with Harbor.
Harbor, a new comedy about the meaning of family, written by Tony Award nominee Chad Beguelin (Elf the Musical) and directed by Tony Award nominee Mark Lamos (Our Country’s Good), will make its New York City Premiere in July, running through September 2013 at 59E59 Theaters. This will be followed by a World Premiere production of Tony Award nominee Eric Simonson’s (The Song of Jacob Zulu) The Yankees, set to run from September-October 2013. Conceived by Fran Kirmser (Magic/Bird) and written and directed by Simonson, The Yankees follows the New York Yankees’ Yogi Berra and tells a story of baseball, family, and the game itself.
The final selected production is a yet-to-be-titled world premiere comedy, written and directed by Charles Busch (The Tale of the Allergist’s Wife) about an out-of-work female impersonator who assumes the identity of his recently deceased landlady in order to take possession of her Greenwich Village townhouse. Carl Andress (The Divine Sister) will direct. Busch has written several other Primary Stages hits including You Should Be So Lucky and Olive and the Bitter Herbs. This production is set to run from January-March 2014, also at 59E59 Theaters.
