Popular FOX Series Glee, Starring Broadway Veteran Lea Michele, Will End Its Television Run Next Year
Creator Ryan Murphy announced the news at a Paley Center event on Wednesday.
Glee, the popular FOX network series about the lovably quirky members of a competitive high school show choir team, will end its television run next year after its sixth season. Show creator Ryan Murphy revealed the information at a Paley Center tribute to FX Networks on Wednesday.
Murphy noted that the recent death of show star Cory Monteith has forced him to rearrange the remainder of the program's arc. "The final year of the show, which will be next year, was designed around Rachel and Cory/Finn's story," Murphy told reporters on hand. "I always knew how it would end. I knew what the last shot was; he was in it. I knew what the last line was…She said it to him. So when a tragedy like that happens you sort of have to pause and figure out what you want to do, so we're figuring that out now."
Glee stars Broadway veterans Lea Michele, Matthew Morrison, and Jane Lynch, along with Chris Colfer, and Darren Criss.
