Pop Legend Michael Jackson Dies at 50

Michael Jackson, the singer dubbed “The King of Pop,” died in Los Angeles on June 25 at age 50. The exact cause of death has yet to be determined.

Jackson first gained fame singing with his brother as part of The Jackson 5, before embarking on a successful solo career. His album Thriller remains the best-selling record of all time, with over 50 million copies, and is the basis for a stage musical playing in London. He also helped organize the single “We Are The World,” which raised millions of dollars for charity.

In addition, Jackson played the role of the Scarecrow in Sidney Lumet’s film adaptation of the Broadway musical The Wiz opposite Diana Ross.
